Acknowledgement of Country
We recognise and pay respect to the Elders and communities – past and present – of the lands on which our members live and work. For thousands of years, they have shared and exchanged knowledges across innumerable generations for the benefit of all.
The Centre for Indigenous People and Work (CIPW) acknowledges that in the spirit of self-determination and commitment to Indigenous ownership of Indigenous data, our work involving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples shall be protected by Indigenous Cultural and/or Intellectual Property guidelines and legislative frameworks, and that any data generated by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, groups or organisations shall be owned by them.
In accordance with Indigenous Data Sovereignty (IDS), the CIPW Advisory Council are the data custodians for all Indigenous data that is utilised by the Working for Women research project. CIPW will adhere to best-practice IDS principles. Data will be kept privately and confidentially and will only be used for purposes that support Indigenous people’s experiences at work, and only with the agreement of the CIPW Advisory Council.
